{"id":587,"date":"2025-12-11T12:00:00","date_gmt":"2025-12-11T11:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/earsonncrc.nl\/?p=587"},"modified":"2026-04-06T22:54:44","modified_gmt":"2026-04-06T21:54:44","slug":"child-rights-solidarity-ears-asks-police-to-investigate-mohw","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/earsonncrc.nl\/?p=587","title":{"rendered":"Child Rights Solidarity &amp; EARS Asks Police to Investigate MOHW"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/child_rs\/\">Child Rights Solidarity <\/a>and EARS presented evidence to the Jongno police station and asked them to investigate the MOHW for:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Dereliction of Duty<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Breach of Trust in the Course of Business<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Violations of the Personal Information Protection Act<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>This complaint aims to request a broad investigation into the NCRC\u2019s digitization of \u2018child cards\u2019 starting in 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission&#8217;s investigation, the NCRC lost a hard drive containing approximately <strong>30,000<\/strong> sensitive records.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What was compromised:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Child cards are documents made when a lost child is found or when a child enters a facility for the first time.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Child cards contain personal information, physical characteristics, and circumstances of missing children.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>This information was supposed to be destroyed or returned after the project was completed, however, the information was kept with an independent contractor for about 4 years.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The NCRC internal audit estimated approximately 300 million won was lost to incomplete tasks and substandard performance.
