Our letter to President Lee Jae Myung humbly asked him to oversee the transfer of 260,000+ records from adoption agencies to the National Center for the Rights of the Child. It expressed concerns over the temporary archive and requests additional safeguards of adoptee rights in the future. This message was endorsed by 28 Korean adoptee organizations from 14 countries and 8 organizations in Korea.
Our letter was delivered on July 17th, 2025 to the Office of the President in Seoul South Korea.
On July 18th 2025, our letter was also delivered to Jung Eun Kyung, the Minister of Health and Welfare.
Our letter was also delivered to a presidential staffer on August 25, 2025 in Washington D.C. during the president’s visit to the United States.
